Eleven Years on.........

Recently I shot with Laura for the second time, our first shoot being in 2007 making it the longest gap between shoots I have had. Laura quit modelling shortly after our first shoot. She then moved close to where I live and made contact via social media and we have been exchanging messages and seeing each other on the street occasionally. Looking at her posting images showed she worked hard to get back in shape after the birth of her children and with a change in lifestyle looked really good. I asked if she was interested in shooting again and the shoot was arranged. The first images are from 2007, make up by Diane Dakin re-edited as I like to think my techniques have improved between the years we have shot

Isolation . ... Going through the archives

As I am in week two of twelve of isolation, I am going back into my digital archives starting with 2004 when I first bought a DSLR the images below are of Maria who ended up featuring in a overseas version of Playboy and has long retired. Taken on a late afternoon entirely natural light with two large white polystyrene boards as fill in. The second set were taken in my lounge using a self made background using dyed painters dust sheet lit with Courtney Colorflashes with silver umbrellas.

Nicola & Jen

Nicola & Jen , a set on Flickr. I contacted mua Nicola Tseng through Model Mayhem as she was local and looking to collaborate with local photographers after a few emails we decided on on a urban theme shooting in black and white. Nicola had been in contact with a new model who was keen to add to her portfolio, it was just a matter of finding a location that had not been overused as is the case in Birmingham once somewhere new is found the foot fall from photographers is great. So I went looking around the Digbeth/Highgate area and found boarded up parking lot with a few boards missing granting easy access, it was also close to the White Room Studio whose owner Dan Stone allowed us to use the dressing room to prep. Two days before the shoot our 'model' disappeared, fortunately I was able to draft in Jen who models under the name of Envii Mi at short notice. The shoot itself went well shot entirely in natural light and using reflectors and a diffuser.

Kirsty Fitness Model

I had a shoot early June with Kirsty, a competitive fitness model, it was the first time she had shot in the lingerie/boudoir style and was understandably nervous, after a chat about the shoot and a look through the mood board we got under way she did fantastically well. Apart from the images below we also took some standard glamour style fitness looks. I am hoping to connect with Kirsty again after her competition and close to her peak look for more fitness images.
