Michelle Clark Graham Five Years of Collaboration

Another post about a regular collaborator after my previous post about my work with Olga Barrassi, it occurred I have never written or posted about my collaborative shoots with Michelle Clark Graham MUA. we have worked together over five years usually a couple of times a year, having lost all my edited images from previous shoots due a external disk dying on me going through images from previous shoots had proven time consuming and also allows me the opportunity to re-evaluate and have a new attempt at processing images with improved skills.

The first time we worked together was 2014 with a model called Oanna who was from Romania, working and living in Birmingham.

Later in 2014 we shot around The Custard Factory on a Bank Holiday weekend, the theme being a vintage with models Sarah Jayne Parker and pin up specialist Violet Ecstasy.

Again from 2014 a shoot based on a idea of the make up look from the film Maleficent and a image of the poet Edith Sitwell by the photographer Horst as inspiration, with our subject for the day Sherelle

Our only shoot of 2015 was a messy and fun one involving powdered paint, which is not the best idea when you suffer with lung and breathing problems, the models involved were Zoe Page and Rubie Marie.

Onto 2017 we where got to work with identical twins Irina and Violeta after initially contacting them the previous year while they were studying at The Birmingham School of Jewellery, the twins got in contact with us still wanting to shoot and were happy to travel up from Watford to do so.

Isolation . ... Going through the archives

As I am in week two of twelve of isolation, I am going back into my digital archives starting with 2004 when I first bought a DSLR the images below are of Maria who ended up featuring in a overseas version of Playboy and has long retired. Taken on a late afternoon entirely natural light with two large white polystyrene boards as fill in. The second set were taken in my lounge using a self made background using dyed painters dust sheet lit with Courtney Colorflashes with silver umbrellas.

Nicola & Jen

Nicola & Jen , a set on Flickr. I contacted mua Nicola Tseng through Model Mayhem as she was local and looking to collaborate with local photographers after a few emails we decided on on a urban theme shooting in black and white. Nicola had been in contact with a new model who was keen to add to her portfolio, it was just a matter of finding a location that had not been overused as is the case in Birmingham once somewhere new is found the foot fall from photographers is great. So I went looking around the Digbeth/Highgate area and found boarded up parking lot with a few boards missing granting easy access, it was also close to the White Room Studio whose owner Dan Stone allowed us to use the dressing room to prep. Two days before the shoot our 'model' disappeared, fortunately I was able to draft in Jen who models under the name of Envii Mi at short notice. The shoot itself went well shot entirely in natural light and using reflectors and a diffuser.

Kirsty Fitness Model

I had a shoot early June with Kirsty, a competitive fitness model, it was the first time she had shot in the lingerie/boudoir style and was understandably nervous, after a chat about the shoot and a look through the mood board we got under way she did fantastically well. Apart from the images below we also took some standard glamour style fitness looks. I am hoping to connect with Kirsty again after her competition and close to her peak look for more fitness images.
