Chai Lee Shrayn Designer, a set on Flickr.
First post for some considerable time, I was contacted by designer Chai Lee Wong about shooting her new collection something I was very happy to do as one of the venues we used was the The Cube a 25 story building which houses Marco Pierre Whites new restaurant and bar and affords spectacular views of Birmingham and it was great to shoot in Champagne Bar using just natural light and a reflector for all of the shots except a couple where I used a speedlite as fill in.

Nudes

Slowly getting back into the groove after having received my covid jabs and after over a year of near isolation apart from seeing only my family and delivery drivers, I am rebooking shoots that were cancelled because of the lockdown. One style of nudity I have not seriously tried was body scapes apart from a couple of shoots with coloured gels a few years ago. The images in this blog are are all black and white and low key, the first two images of mature model Maisie, the other model is Lilia a newish model who has a fantastic physique although wasn't in training when we shot.

Beth Kate

I have been aware of Beth Kate for some time as she lives not too far from Birmingham and she had a look that suited a style of shoot I have been planning to shoot for some time. Contact was made a shoot was organised and planned quickly. The shoot was in two sections natural light and a studio set. The day of the shoot we had a sunny day which made the light levels and camera settings not too difficult to manage. The images shown here are from those sets as I had a few problems with the studio images technically which will need further work.

Isolation . ... Going through the archives

As I am in week two of twelve of isolation, I am going back into my digital archives starting with 2004 when I first bought a DSLR the images below are of Maria who ended up featuring in a overseas version of Playboy and has long retired. Taken on a late afternoon entirely natural light with two large white polystyrene boards as fill in. The second set were taken in my lounge using a self made background using dyed painters dust sheet lit with Courtney Colorflashes with silver umbrellas.
